Andreas Salomonsen (Prof. Piriquito) was introduced to Capoeira in Denmark in the mid 1990s. He is a student of Mestre Steen, founder of ‘Capoeiraskolen Senzala’ in Denmark but has trained with many masters and teachers in Denmark and abroad, as well as participated in various Capoeira meetings and workshops around Europe and Brazil.
From 2002 – 2007 he lived and worked in East Africa where he in his spare time introduced Capoeira to Ugandans and established the first Capoeira group in the country (Senzala Uganda). Andreas moved to the United Kingdom in 2007, where he is now living in Oxford with his family. He was awarded his Green Cord (Professor) at the Batizado in Copenhagen (Denmark) in May 2007 and started the Oxford branch of Group Senzala in October 2008.
